Salary; £35-45,000 OTE - £10-12,000 Uncapped

Primary Purpose

Our client are seeking to recruit into their successful Technical Architecture team with a Technical Architect to support the growing business and sales team.


The Technical Architect will deliver technical consultancy and pre-sales activities, and transfer industry, technical and product knowledge to customers via excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. The successful candidate will assist in all levels of technical account planning and accompany members of the large sales team on customer meetings.


Working with the Planet IT Sales Team, your responsibilities will include the development of formal written sales proposals and tender responses and the ability to present and differentiate product offerings at a technical level from the competition. Reporting to the Head of Technical Architecture, you will be joining an established business with growth aspirations underpinned by an on-track Business Plan.


The ideal candidate will have experience in providing technical consultancy and delivery services to end-user customers for some or all products, such as, Microsoft, Back Up and DR, Security, Networking, Storage, Server, and Cloud solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver chargeable Technical Services to new and existing customers for products, such as Microsoft, Back Up and DR, Security, Networking, Storage, Server, and Cloud solutions etc.

  • Build technical relationship with prospects and/or existing customers

  • Support the Sales Team with customer-facing technical pre-sales assistance

  • Deliver product presentations and demonstrations, and provide support at external and internal customer facing events

  • Build custom demonstrations and deliver Proof of Concepts (POC)

  • Compare competitive products to specify the most advantageous solutions for customers; and

  • Take a leading role in specifying technical solutions and writing proposals and tender responses.


Behaviours Required

  • Technical Consultancy customer-facing experience or experience in an IT management or lead technical internal role

  • Proven Technical and IT Services experience

  • Proposal and Tender writing experience or experience of writing internal documentation

  • Qualifications to include some or all the following technologies: Microsoft, VMware, Microsoft Azure, Dell, Cisco or any other technical certification

  • Good commercial acumen

  • Excellent presentation and demonstration skills

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Ability to explain and present technical solutions

  • Excellent relationship-building skills

  • Affinity to both sales and technology functions; and

  • Be based in the UK with occasional travel throughout Europe.

  • Full Clean UK Driving Licence
