The role:
Or client are a prestigious establishment based in West Berkshire. This is a great opportunity to join a small team working in a very exciting and rewarding environment.
Job Summary:
The role will ideally suit a person who has 2 to 3 years relevant work experience in the IT industry. You must be able to obtain a clean DBS certificate and provide evidence of your eligibility to work in the United Kingdom. You must be customer focused and have very good people skills. A key requirement of the role is to be able to prioritise tasks and be well organised as well as be physically able to walk around a large site with lots of stairs sometimes carrying equipment.
Duties and responsibilities:
Provide general IT support, which includes:
Basic network and software administration.
Daily checks including disk based backup and server checks and weekly tape changes
The maintenance or provision of Computer hardware, networking equipment, printers and
software.
Maintenance of on-site electronic documentation (including network diagrams, cabinet photos and IT asset register)
Managing software and hardware requests appropriately.
Setting up College provided devices for staff
basic printer maintenance including clearing print queues, replacing toners & printer jams
Creation/ amendment of Active Directory users and groups
Assisting with the connection of student owned devices [BYOD]
Resolving IT problems in a timely manner, escalating to Connect Systems, if necessary
Manage IT ticket system, prioritising support requests as appropriate
Basic telephone system management
Setting up IT equipment for College events e.g. assemblies, open days etc.
Advice, if requested on best practice in the use of College IT systems and devices
