Job Summary;
To provide IT support to the College community utilising the online ticketing system and offering a solution focused service. Delivery of an excellent IT provision for the College by ensuring the maintenance of hardware, software, and networking.
Responsibilities;
Provide general IT support to college community, which includes:
Hardware, network, and software administration
Maintenance, support, and installation of network hardware
Scheduled tasks such as regular data backups, keeping onsite documentation up to date
Management of IT ticket system including escalation and liaison with key suppliers Setting up equipment for college events
Providing general support and advice as requested to all staff and pupils
Support of staff and students with connection and configuration of personal devices as specified in the BYOD policy
Liaise with key IT infrastructure suppliers, which currently includes
Connect Systems for second line support.
TM Document Solutions / Papercut for Ricoh printers.
iCS for the Avaya Telephone system
Monitor key systems including internet access, locally and cloud hosted servers and services, web filtering and security
Work within, implement or apply the information security policy of the school. Assisting other college staff, where IT involvement is beneficial or needed.
Other reasonable requests made by the headmaster or other senior staff
Required / Useful Knowledge
Essential Experience;
Microsoft Active Directory.
Google G Suite.
Network infrastructure including networked switches, VLANs, Wireless networks
Ethernet cabling.
Network security including antivirus/anti-malware and intrusion detection systems.
Asset Management
You must be customer focused and have excellent people skills
Be able to prioritise tasks according to need or impact and be well organised
Physically able to walk around a large site with lots of stairs sometimes carrying equipment.
A full DBS check will be required for this role and a full UK drivers’ licence.
Key working relationships: All academic and operational staff Pupils Visitors Connect (our outsourced IT services company)
Hours per week: 08.00am – 5.00pm – 1 Hour for Lunch (unpaid) plus up to twelve Saturdays 9am to 12noon during the year for which overtime will be paid. 52 weeks per year.
Holiday Entitlement: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays Duration of Contract: Permanent.
