ELECTROMECHANICAL FITTER

Location: Harwell, near Didcot, Oxfordshire

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum



Our client is looking for an Electromechanical Fitter to join their team based in Harwell, Near Didcot.  Working with the core Engineering team  within a high technology market, you will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical manufacture as well as fitting and inspection of  drawings.


The company carry out on-site fitting as part of their service so some overseas travel may be required as well as UK travel for installations

Main responsibilities;

  • Wiring of cabinet panels from detailed wiring drawings

  • Complete machine builds from drawings including mechanical build and assembly as well as electrical wiring and cable routing

  • Construction and Assembly of parts as well as sub-assemblies.

  • Use of hand tools and equipment for manufacture 

  • Preparing parts and sub-assemblies for smaller systems

  • Opportunity to develop automation, mechanical and electrical skills

  • Site fittings at customer premises within the UK and Overseas

  • Assembly of complete systems and machines on site including finishing wiring, assembly and routing.

  • Occasional site service visits 

  • Administration tasks including responding to emails, taking telephone calls etc

About you;

Applicants should have knowledge in Electro-Mechanical manufacturing environment with excellent levels of fitting and hands-on engineering skills.  

Knowledge of electrical wiring and mechanical pneumatics is paramount with the ability to accurately read and interpret electrical/technical drawings.  

You should be well organised with a logical approach to a heavy workload, the ability to prioritise and work as part of a team is essential.

Required; 

  • An NVQ or BTEC level 3 apprenticeship or equivelent in relevent engineering discipline

  • Full Uk driving licence 

  • Knowledge of control systems and design software including Solidworks or AutoCad
